Photographer and filmmaker William Klein's captures of Tokyo are cinematic, alive, raw, yet almost surreal. 

The book offered here is beaten up, but the images, and their presentation within, are beautiful.

From the introduction by Maurice Pinguet, "Like Hokusai, William Klein has created a Manga—a sudden throng of images, faces, streets, crowds, and attitudes, intense and confused, where the past merges with the future in an uproar of appearances. All are instantaneously caught, still moving, alive, and gesturing as in the ephemeral world of Ukiyo-e, often with the caricatural accent Sharaku gave the faces of his actors."
